Steven D. Laman
Steve has been practicing law for over 20 years and joined the firm in 2019 as Of Counsel. His legal career began at a mid-sized firm in Edwardsville, Illinois. He learned from seasoned attorneys with vast trial experience and appreciated the constant exposure he had to judges, courts, and other counsel. Steve came back to Colorado in 2001 and has worked for two prominent firms located in Englewood, CO. During this time, he was exposed to vastly different types of cases. He aggressively represented clients in all stages of litigation gaining valuable experience in motions practice, depositions, alternative dispute resolution, mediations, and trial. His experience includes representing both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury and premises liability cases, representing general contractors, sub-contractors, and developers in construction defect cases, and preparation of contracts for various clients in various industries. His years of experience and exposure to various types of legal matters have given him the proven ability to successfully resolve situations where people and businesses find themselves in disputes that are both expensive and unpredictable.
Steve also has a passion for horses which has lead him to represent clients with various equine law issues. He has prepared contracts for equine professionals, equine facilities, and represented clients in disputes over equine ownership and breeding rights. He has served as a member of the board of directors of the Colorado Horse Council and the Colorado Horse Development Authority. In his free time Steve enjoys all Colorado has to offer including mountain biking, hiking, an occasional Rockies game, and, when he can, assisting good friends with their hot air balloon.
